Okinawa Cherry Blossom Photographer - Daily Snap - to see

Our grand business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what lies clearly at hand
-Thomas Carlyle

Daily Snap -

WoW last week was rough. K and R finally went to school today. Milk Monster is finally looking like he's at the end of this lovely bug that was hanging out at our home. I normally don't work on Mondays but with the illness I had to make sure to get my wonderful clients taken care of in a timely manner. Cherry blossoms don't last forever and that's what the sessions were booked for. Whenever I'm at a session, I try to capture a couple of photographs for myself of the cherry blossoms. At the moment I'm flying solo because of this it makes it difficult to get alone time to go shoot. Typhoon Trio are great about going on photography walkabouts but really to them you see one blossom you've seen them all. =)

I hope that you like today's daily snap photograph. I thought it was a perfect match for the quote.

Oh I almost forgot to share the Love You Oodles Giveaway with you! Over 20 venders have collaborated to bring you this amazing give away! Make sure to enter. I know I wish I could =) click on here for details.

Okinawa Cherry Blossom Photographer - Okinawa City - is

Love is patient,
love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
-1 Corinthians 13

Sneak Peek-

Today's cherry blossom session was of an Air Force couple. This is their last year here and they wanted to have pictures taken during cherry blossom season. It's been 6 plus years since they had professional photographs taken. They both wanted to capture their time here on Okinawa but at the same time the tenderness of their relationship. I had a lot of fun during the session. Mr. Ben is a ham and always has something funny or off the wall to say. So I spent the majority of the time giggling during the session. Which doesn't help with keeping the camera steady. Mr Ben and Claritza, I hope that your day was a memorable moment.

Okinawa Cherry Blossom Photographer - Okinawa City - action

There never was a person who did anything worth doing
that did not receive more than he gave
-Henry Ward Beecher

Sneak Peek-

The last session for the day was for my assistant Claritza. Due to the fact that the entire weeks sessions were moved to one day I decided to have an assistant. Customer service is very important to me. With so many sessions back to back I wanted to make sure that everyone was being taken care. I appreciate Mrs. Claritza help because I was able to concentrate on the relationship between the current client being photographed and myself without having to worry about the next client not being taken care of.
Thank you Mrs. Claritza for making the sessions run smoothly and thank you so much for all the wonderful families that were photographed by Rising Sun Memories.

Okinawa Photographer - Daily Snaps- rain

Morning Rain

A slight rain comes, bathed in dawn light.
I hear it among treetop leaves before mist
Arrives. Soon it sprinkles the soil and,
Windblown, follows clouds away. Deepened

Colors grace thatch homes for a moment.
Flocks and herds of things wild glisten
Faintly. Then the scent of musk opens across
Half a mountain -- and lingers on past noon
- Tu Fu

Daily Snap-

Hello Everyone!

WoW, what an incredible morning! I had faith it was going to be a gorgeous day. I had the wonderful privilege of photographing 5 wonderful families today! Have you ever had one of those days when you just have the peace of God filling you up? That was me today. I was also very excited about today's sessions because of the cherry blossoms. Last season I was recovering from surgery so I missed out on the Cherry Blossoms and taking photographs for six months. Thank you so much for the families who allowed me to be a part of their family today. It was a blessing to have met you all. I would also like to thank my assistant Claritza for making things run smoothly today.

Today's Daily snap is of rain kissed cherry blossoms.

Okinawa Photographer - Daily Snaps- once, twice

Chicken Soup with Rice

-unknown author

Daily Snap-

I hope this is the last time for a little while that I will be making chicken soup. Typhoon Trio are doing better. Mr K is almost completely well now with a slight cough, Miss R is feeling better but she isn't quite there and Milk Monster who caught it last has a very low fever but is getting better. Today I spent the morning disinfecting the house with bleach and lysol. So hopefully I was able to kill what ever it was. Now that everyone is on the road to recovery I'll be able to work this Saturday and start on this month's project.

Typhoon Trio's session for the month of February is still in the planning stages. Typhoon Trio's January session was a lot of fun. This next is going to be held outside but the theme is unknown. I LOVE colors. I always tell my clients to wear bright colors because they bring so much emotion to the photograph. I'm always looking for unique items for the children to wear. Mrs. Jennifer, from The Fabric Girl made Miss R two fabulous outfits but she is currently not making clothing. One was Miss R's first day of school outfit and the other one is for Miss R's Cherry Blossom pictures this year.

Today I was chatting with Mrs. Heather via facebook about clothing. Earlier this week Heather shared Evy's Tree  and today she shared Project Run and Play. While reading Project Run and Play, I came across the cutest dress Couture Cutie by Sew in No Mans Land. OMG I wish I knew how to sew. Miss R would have the cutest wardrobe ever. But you know you can wish in one hand and you get the point.
So, I'm on the hunt for cute clothing like Matilda Jane, ZozoBugBaby and Swanky Baby Vintage for future photography sessions.

Go check out Heather's blogs here and here. Let her know Rising Sun Memories sends her some love =)

One of my goals as a photographer is to do Commercial Photography for businesses like these!  Do you make children's clothing?? Send me a message for us to collaborate!

WoW, I just realized this is probably the first time I have written this much lol. Don't get to use to it ;)

Okinawa Photographer - Daily Snaps- shades of grey

The Storm

"...Along the sea-wall, a steady sloshing of the swell,
The waves not yet high, but even,
Coming closer and closer upon each other;
A fine fume of rain driving in from the sea,
Riddling the sand, like a wide spray of buckshot,
The wind from the sea the wind from the mountain contending,
Flickering the foam from the whitecaps straight upward into the darkness..."
- Theodore Roethke

Daily Snaps

This daily snap photograph is also my picture for this week's MCP's Project 52. This week's theme is shades of grey. My goal for this was not to convert my digital image from color to black and white. I wanted to represent shades of grey as if you were there to witness it for yourself. This picture was taken from the top of  Nago Central Park over looking the breathtaking views of the East China Sea. Nago Central Park is located near the city center and hosts the Nago City Cherry Blossom Festival one of the biggest in Okinawa.

Cherry Blossoms Adrift

Pink petals passing
Scents above so high
Painted porcelain perfection
Blossoms caress the sky

Swaying silent shroud
Suitors strolling by
Pink petals passing
Lover's gentle sigh

Pastels hues falling
Slow fluttering grace
Pink petals passing
Lining stream in lace

Pink petal passing
Smoothest transit by
Soft essence floating
In most subtle lullaby

Inducing springtime slumber
Upon a satin shore
Sailing with the current
Pink petals pass before
