Okinawa Family Photographer- terrific

Terrific Toes

I have such terrific toes,
I take them with me wherever I goes.
I have such fantastic feet,
No matter what, they still smell sweet.
Toes and feet and feet and toes,
There's nothing else as fine as those.

Daily Snap,

HA Haaaa.
I didn't forget you even though it's very late.
Today has been a bit busy. I saw two good friends, drove down to Naha, bought some items to style the New Child's Play Session for February and finished editing a session. I'm really excited about the Child's Play sessions starting in February. Will tell you more about it once we get closer to February =) Gotta keep you wondering right? Sorry no personal pictures from me today but I'll share some adorable little toes =)

Okinawa Photographer- Daily Snaps- design

You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created.

Daily Snaps

Today I went on a little adventure looking for some quotes for a design for our Squadron's Banquet. There have been some limitations since I do not speak Japanese. So of course it's been a bit hard to communicate my idea. Lucky I'm a pretty determined person. With a lot of pointing, drawings and photographs we were able to communicate. Their service was great. I'm going to get some more quotes for the design. I'm really excited to see the design come together.

Milk Monster showed me his favorite two. He really likes jets "even though his Daddy doesn't fly in those" His Daddy flies on 60s =)

The above photographs are of the patch shop Tiger EMB located outside of Kadena Gate 2 in Okinawa-City. All the walls of the store are covered with samples of patches they have made. Most of them were U.S. military related. Customer faces are blurred for their privacy.

Okinawa Photographer- Daily Snaps- little bird

Most of the birds have gone away
On this cold, dark winter's day
But here is one bird I can see
Looking for something to eat
Little bird, I'll feed you
Till the cold, winter's through
And all your friends come back to play
On some bright and warm spring day.

Daily Snaps

The weather has been a bit gloomy this first day back to school. The house is quiet but Milk Monster and I have been enjoying our one-on-one time again. I went and stood at the backyard sliding glass door, noticing at how quiet it was outside. There we no children riding their bikes outside or hanging out on the sidewalk (my pet peeve). The backyards were empty of children playing ball, jumping on the trampolines or singing like Miss "R" likes to do when she swings. Just then a pretty little bird flew into the yard and landed on the swing set. I thought GREAT! here's my photo for today. I had to work quickly not because of the bird flying away but because of Milk Monster. I knew once he noticed him he would pat on the window to say Hi. After taking the picture I thought that the little bird was probably hungry. That's when I remembered an article from rhythm of the home of a project Milk Monster and I would be able to do. The article is called Critter Comfort and it gives ideas on how to make creative edible food for your neighborhood critters. We will have to go to the store later this week to do this project =)

Share with us your creative critter food ideas in a post below!

Daily Snaps

Today is the last day of winter break. No more waking up to Typhoon Trio's little adventures that turn my office area into a jungle with a pond that has a great white shark and a Killer whale in it. Tomorrow starts the "normal" hustle and bustle of the week. In some ways it's going to be good to get back to a schedule but at the same time I'm going to miss our long leisurely winter break days.

tell us a little about you...
I am a military wife and stay at home. I'm loving every minute of it! It never ceases to amaze me what I can learn from our 2 year old. Of course the military life is constantly reminding me of what's important. I'm from a small town in Ohio, that almost no one has ever heard of. I'm currently residing on Okinawa. I LOVE crafts of all kinds! I really, really do! I always have some sort of project waiting to be finished. My brain is constantly moving from one thing to the next. Which means there are never enough hours in a day. I am truly blessed in the life that I have and the person it has shaped me into!
I wouldn't trade a thing!

how long have you been making handmade items?
I have been making handmade items for 13 years. I picked up a needle and thread and never stopped.

and when you are not designing?
We are enjoy our time exploring Okinawa

your style?
I get inspiration from the bright colors of nature. I love fields of flowers and the vividness of colors on a sunny day. This is reflected in the bright fabrics that I choose for my creations. I love to brighten the lives of others with the handmade items.
