Okinawa Newborn Photographer - You can't buy

You can't buy loyalty they say;
we bought it though the other day.
You can't buy friendship, tried and true;
well just the same, we bought that too.
We made our bid, and on the spot;
bought love and faith and a whole lot
of happiness; so all in all
the purchase price was pretty small.
We bought a simple trusting heart;
that gave devotion from the start.
If you think these things are for sale,
buy a brown eyed pup with a waggily tail.

Okinawa Child Photographer- Besitos para Papi

Hugs and Kisses

Hugs and Kisses,
exes and ohs
why we love 'em
nobody knows.
Some like 'em big
some like 'em small,
but I just love 'em
any way at all!

Okinawa Child Photographer- What is a daughter?

A daughter is love in a bright pink bow
A bundle of happiness all aglow
A tomboy in jeans with a tear streaked face
Crying because she has just lost a race.
Then all of a sudden, no longer small,
She's a vision of loveliness dressed for a ball
A dreamer, a schemer, no two days the same
What is a daughter... It's more than a name
She's a pleasure, a treasure, a comfort each day
Loving and sweet in her own special way
She's a sense of contentment felt deep inside
Bringing a lifetime of pleasure and pride!

Okinawa Baby Photographer - In My Heart

I would write a poem of baby,
But there are no words that I know...
No notes to this music that sings
softly in my heart for my little one

Okinawa Baby Photographer - Semper Fidelis "Always Faithful"

From the Halls of Montezuma,
To the shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country's battles
In air, on land and sea;
First to fight for right of freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marine.

Our flag's unfurled to every breeze
From dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in every clime and place
Where we could take a gun;
In snow of far-off Northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes;
You will find us always on the job
The United States Marines.

Here's health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve;
In many a strife we've fought for life
And never lost our nerve;
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven's scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
By Untied States Marines.

Okinawa Newborn Photographer - Remembering

Help me remember, when I feel it's a chore,

The time will come when I'll hold baby no more,

Asleep on my chest, the crib refused,
the blanket , the pacifier, gone unused.
What better place is there to lay baby's head
Than against my heart, my arm her bed?
For children grow up and leave us behind
With only memories left to remind us
Of midnight walking and predawn rocking,
Of sweet, crying babies unable to sleep.
So, keep me patient and keep me awake
While I cradle this dear child,
And don't let me begrudge another long night
With this baby, my darling, my joy, my delight.

Okinawa Baby Photographer - I'm My Daddy's Little Girl

His big hands hold her sweet
His big heart she completes
His big voice becomes a purr
His big smile shines for her

Her little kisses brush his cheek
Her little eyes, love they speak
Her little hands hold him tight
Her little smile beams true light

Little cowgirls with pretty
pink bows
A hat on their head and polish on their toes.
Shirts with ruffles and little blue jeans,
All help create little rodeo dreams.
We just couldn't wait
'til you came home,
Now Mommy and Daddy have
little cowgirls of their own!

Okinawa Photographer l Height of joy

Shuri-jo's Kyukeimon gate*

"Be an opener of doors...."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

As some of you already know I took this last month off to recover from surgery. Since I'm still growing as a photographer. I always feel like I'm taking one step forward and two steps back. This last year with the two surgeries and the recovery times I definitely felt like I was moving backwards more than forward. This time has been frustrating but enlightening too. With all the trials and tribulations I have not veered from my course to becoming the best Visionmonger I can be. Thank you to my husband KB for always believing in me. You made it possible for my dream to come true. I'm blessed by the support of my family, friends, and the photography community. I have been humbled by my clients for making me an honorary family member even if it's for a day and for the friendships that have evolved from those sessions. Thank you ALL!

I look forward to photographing my first session today since the recovery! You met her earlier this week from her hospital photographs. Today, we will be photographing Little "I", her two older sisters and her wonderful parents. I get excited and nervous before every session. I'm at a height of joy about this session because not only were they my very first session when I started my journey as a photographer but I have been blessed with their friendship since 2005. I'm very honored to photograph their newest addition to their lovely family. Please, make sure to come back and give them some blog love on their session post.

*Information about phototgraph:
Kyukeimon
Shuri-jo's Kyukeimon gate was also called Hokori-ujo, "Hokori" means "height of joy," a term coupled with 'Amae (joy),' the commom name for Kankaimon gate.
While Kankaimon served as the front gate, Kyukeimon was a side entrance used mainly by woman. It was also used by the King when visiting temples or the northen areas.
Geographically, this area offers outlets for rainwater that fell on the castle grounds to permeate through the ground.
Burnt down in Battle of Okinawa, Kyukeimon gate was restored in 1983.

Just 4 Fun - Ool

Swimming Ool

Swimming in the swimming pool
is where I like to "B,"
wearing underwater goggles
so that I can "C."
Yesterday, before I swam,
I drank a cup of "T."
Now the pool is just an "ool"
because I took a "P."

Just 4 Fun- Macro- Little Fella has a friend

I'm A Little Snail

(Sung to- Sing a Song of Sixpence)

I'm a little snail, I'm crawling on the ground.
I have got no legs, so I can't walk around.
And when I'm in a hurry, there's someplace I must go.
I'll get there when I get there, even though I'm very slow!

Little Fella (in bottom right) decided to bring company along =)
I saw Little Fella's friend and thought what a great chance to practice with the macro.
So here are two pictures of Little Fella's friend up close.

It's still raining here but there's always something to bring a little sunshine into your day!
Find your sunshine =)

Have a great week!!

Just 4 Fun- Out of the rain

Snails
Slimy and slippery,
Snails are such fun.
Slowly they move,
They can't even run!

Leaving their trail
behind as they go.
You can see where they've been
and how very slow.

On their back is a shell,
it's really their home.
It's ever so small,
but it goes where they roam.

On stalks are their eyes,
that wave all around.
One can point up,
and one to the ground!

They eat lots of plants,
and all of the flowers.
Munching away,
especially in showers.

Shiny and slippery,
snails are such fun.
They eat and they eat,
they must weight a ton!
~ Gareth Lancaster

The plants were outside enjoying the rain from the last few days in Okinawa.
When the plants were brought in I guess this little fella decided to come out of the rain =)
Have a great day!

Just 4 FUN- Ballerina

"DANCE LITTLE GIRL"

Dance little girl to the tune in your heart
And the smiles of your mother and dad,
And your friends looking on-
Who are thrilled with the song
That bubbles from someome glad.
Dance little girl- little boy standing by
Is shy- and wants to be bold.
Take his hand little girl-
Understand little girl,
The treasures more precious than gold.
Dance little girl- for all in this world,
Dance wherever you go.
Lift your head little boy-
Never dread little boy-
Dance - and on with the show.
~ C. Beale Fletcher
