Okinawa Couple Photography - yours

The life that I have

The life that I have

is all that I have

and the life that I have

is yours.

The love that I have

Of the life that I have

Is yours and yours and yours.

A sleep I shall have

A rest I shall have

Yet death will be a pause

For the peace of my years

In the long green grass

Will be yours and yours and yours.

Daily Snaps - the way

You have your way. I have my way.
As for the right way, the correct way,
and the only way, it doesn't exist.
- Friedrich Nietzsche

Today's Daily Snap - perspective

Milk Monster has started watching TV upside down. What is funny I use to do the exact same thing when I was little. What's great about this picture is that life is about perspective. If you don't like what you see change your perspective!

Thank you for stopping by. Sorry it's short and sweet but I have been a busy bee. Tomorrow is an early day with a beautiful newborn!!! Yeah!!!

Have a wonderful evening with your love ones!!!
I've been missin' my DH but he is doing what he does best!!

Catch you on the flip side!!!
same time. same place.

Remeber to check out Kristi's and Jessica's photo-a-day challenge! Also make sure to leave Kristi some blog love or FB love about her maternity session.

Okinawa Urban Maternity -your presence

Nine Months

My precious little baby,
I have loved you from the start.
You are a tiny miracle
Laying close to my heart.
Each day I feel your presence,
Each day you quickly grow,
Each day your heart beats softly,
As only I could know.
So, I'll keep this in a special place
And remember each year through,
Of this special time in my life
In the months I carried you.

This is a sneak peek more than a daily snap. I'm going to post the picture I took for the daily snaps later this evening. This morning I started my day off like any other Monday. Typhoon Trio were sleepy as all Mondays start off. They love school so at least it's not grumpy sleepiness. But for me I was excited about getting Typhoon Trio off to school because I was heading out the door to shoot an urban shoot with my cohort Ms. Kristi of Kristi James Photography. Yes, the same Kristi that is doing the Photo-A-Day Challenge. This time things were going to be a little different for her. She wasn't behind the lens. I had the priviledge of shooting a very important time in her life, her maternity session!! She is absolutely RADIENT!! She wanted an urban maternity session. So last friday we scoped out our locations of interest. I was really excited to shoot her since like most photographers we don't have many pictures of ourselves. We are more then likely to be found behind the lens. I'm also glad that we were able to do the session because Kristi's DH is currently deployed. I'm very sure he is going to love the photographs of his beautiful wife with her adorable baby bump! My favorite picture is the one below the poem but really she's so BEAUTIFUL I decided to share more than one =) Todays session was really great but there was a special person missing too. Kristi's sister, Jessica, who is also a photographer. I'm sure she would have loved to have been here to capture this special moment for her sister. I hope I did great by you!! It would have been great to shoot with you, Jessica.

Thank you for looking at my dear friends urban maternity session. Make sure to catch Kristi's wonderful work at www.kristijamesphotography.com and Jessica's beautiful work at www.jessicaaphotography.com.

Have a wonderful evening with your love ones. I'm going to do our nightly routines with Typhoon Trio since Papi is off working late for Uncle Sam. So more than likely tonight's Daily Snap will be short and sweet.

Catch ya in a bit!!!! =)

Daily Snaps - Colorful

Colorful Balloons
Green balloons, red balloons, purple, and blue...
Would you jump in a pool full of balloons?
Swimming in color, squeaky in rubber!
Playing in balloons, seems like forever.
I like tossing balloons in the air,
rubbing balloons in my hair.
I stick them up against the wall,
and wait to see when they fall.
Gold balloons, silver balloons, pink ones too!
I mostly like bright yellow balloons.
Colorful balloons make me smile.
I want balloons as long as a mile.
Only tip when it comes to balloons...

When blowing them up, make sure to stop.
Because if you don't, balloons ALWAYS POP!

- Tommy G.

Daily Snaps:

WoW it's been 15 days!!! We are half way done with this challenge.
Today was very busy day. I had my last follow-up for my surgery. It's been 3 months since the second surgery and 8 months since the first one. It's amazing how much your quality of life can change when you are able to do things that before were difficult. After the Dr's appt we drove around Naha for a little bit. We found this great Shrine which I promise to share pictures of later this week. I wasn't able to do it tonight because I had a session as soon as I arrived home. The session was for a dear friend who's Mother is currently visiting from the states. They were interested in doing a generational session of just the ladies. I had the pleasure of sharing with Gaga Bella's first session at the hospital and second session during her almost 5 day session. I have been looking forward to this session for 5 wks now since this was going to be Gaga's first family photographs with little bella. We had a lot of fun and the weather was wonderful!! I hope that you were able to get out today and enjoy this beautiful day too.

The above photograph is of Bella's older sisters. I have been wanting to take a picture with balloons for sometime now. Bella's sisters were very happy to help me out.

Have a wonderful evening!!!
I am very sleepie from a very long weekend!!

Looking forward to tomorrow as I get to photograph another dear friend's maternity session =)

Sweet Dreams!
Catch you same time. Same place.

Daily Snaps - expression

Art is not in some far-off place.
A work of Art is the expression of man's
whole personality, sensibility and ability.
- Shinichi Suzuki

Daily Snaps - "Beautiful tone, Beautiful heart"

I was blessed today to have the opportunity to collaborate with some very talented Artist on Okinawa. I admire theses ladies not only for their talent but for their beautiful hearts. Thank you Kim, Rosa and Wendy for sharing your gift of talent.

I started this daily snap a few times trying to contiplate what I wanted to say today. It's been a long day. As some of you already know I dislike writing but I love looking for poems to go with the photographs. As I was looking for a poem to go with this post when I came across a quote by Shinchi  Suzuki. I thought it was very appropriate for how I am feeling. I'm sure this doesn't only happen to artist but anyone that is passionate about what they are doing may relate. During the process of creating a drawing or photograph, I have this sense that I have left  a part of myself in that work. That the work not only reflects my abilities but my whole personality and sensibility. I hope that you enjoy the work that I leave a little bit of me in for your to enjoy!!

Thank you for sitting a spell with me today.
I appreciate your support and do cherish the time you take out of your evening to join me.

Have a wonderful weekend I am going to go spend sometime with my family.
Many blessings to you and yours!!

Daily Snaps - they call it puppy love xxxxxx

Happiness is a warm puppy

Charles Schulz

Today's daily snap is about our fur babies.

This morning I realized that I had not taken any pictures of them for the daily snaps. I'm proud to introduce to you our fur babies, Mako, who is blue in color and Shisa who is fawn in color. I betcha you can't figure out which one was bought here ;) Our fur babies are Italian Greyhounds.  Yes, they are greyhounds. No, they are not called miniature. The Italian Greyhound is a true Greyhound, his small stature is the result of selective breeding. So if you keep breeding small greyhounds with other small greyhounds you'll eventually get Italian greyhounds. Mako was a christmas present in 2003. I wanted a baby DH gave me a dog lol. Since Mako was little he has been my DH's training buddy. They run every where together. Even now he still loves to go on runs with DH. Now Shisa was not planned lol she was an opps. A "What the heck was I thinking to get a dog a couple days before DH deploys" spontaneous decision. Shisa is a a little over a year now. She is a spaz but she is a good girl and is very loving. She loves to hunt. She has guarded our yard against big mice maybe a rat but for my peace of mind mouse and GODZILLA. A huge lizard that likes to come into our yard and torment her. Godzilla has figured out that she's more afraid of him than he is of her. I told you she's a spaz but we love her. Even though there have been times that I have threatened her with finding her a new home. She is a puppy so lets just leave it at that.  Those are our two fur babies.

Do you have any fur babies, scaly babies, maybe feathery babies???

Daily Snaps is being posted early because DH is working late again so I'm doing the nightly routines.

Thank you for sitting a spell with me!!
Leave us some blog or facebook love!!!
It always makes me smile =)

Daily Snaps - Thirsty???

The Soda Song

Shake it up and here we go
Sizzle, fizzle, overflow
It can come in a bottle
It can come in a can
It's bubbly, it's bubbly
It's soda, man!

Take a sip--it's sweet and tarty
Now what's that sound? Your mouth is havin' a party
10 good drinks? It's at the top!
It's soda pop! It's soda pop!

You need need a drink on a hot summer's day
You need soda, soda hear me say!
But drink it all at once or you'll say "rats!"
'Cause your bottle of soda will go kinda flat.

It goes good with everything-- the ld and new
You can have it with breakfast, lunch and dinner too!
Drink some soda like you should
Any kind of soda will do you good

So drink it today. nothin' can really go wrong
And now, you've heard the soda song!

Today's Daily Snap is a little early. My DH is working late again. So Typhoon Trio and I are going to spend some quality time reading. Have a wonderful night with your love ones!! What do you do during your down time?

Today's Daily Snap!!!!

Here's a picture from today's drive out in the Okinawa agricultural area. In the picture you will notice there's a soda machine. It not only sells cold sodas, waters and juices but it sells hot/cold coffees. What's funny about this is you can be out in the middle of no where up in the mountains and you will find a soda machine. They are everywhere. Sometimes there's only one but most of the time there's three machines one next to the other. My favorite drink is the peach water. OMG the best drink ever!!!

If you are ever here on Okinawa. You will not go thirsty as long as you have some yen =) !

Make sure to check out Kristi and Jessica's Photo-A-Day challenge too.
Please, leave us some blog love.
It always makes us smile =)

Okinawa Newborn Photographer- a living spirit

When you look at a baby, it's just that:
a body you can look at and touch.
But the person who takes shape within is
formed by something you can't see and
touch - the Spirit - and becomes a living spirit.

Daily Snaps - bubbles

Rub a dub dub,
Three men in a tub,
And who do you think they be?
The butcher, the baker,
the candlestick maker.
Turn them out, knaves all three

- James Orchard Halliwell, 1842

Daily Snaps #10....we are on a roll people!!

If you only knew how many times I was tired or just didn't feel like writing but I am here because you are sticking by me. I know you are out there Rising Sun Memories blogstalkers =)

Today's Daily Snap is another look into our evening routine. You can read the first post here. This is part of my DH nightly routine with Typhoon Trio. This gives me a chance to clean up, finish any work or sometimes relax. The later doesn't happen often lol.  Tonight's bath time was supervised by me because Papi is working late as we speak.  During the week Typhoon Trio take showers so that it's a quick process. Since it was my night and I wanted to take some photographs we had a Friday night bubble bath on Monday. Typhoon Trio had a blast covering the bathroom floor in suds and the best part was I had fun too.  Even if I did have a bit of a wet mess to pick up after.

Thank you again for sitting a spell.
Same time. Same place.

Sweet Dreams Okinawa and have a Blessed day to the rest of the world!!

Make sure to check out Kristi and Jessica's Photo-A-Day too

Daily Snaps - smelly markers

One yellow lemon,
plus a very minty green,
strawberry red and a blue one that smells clean,
a grape smelling purple and a cotton candy pink,
plus a brown that smells like...
chocolate I think.
What did I draw???
A very colorful mustache
- unknown author poem from Doodads

Yeah it's new week of Daily Snaps!!!

See today is one of those days I don't know what to write. Those of you who frequent the blog know I DO NOT write. I am trying even though it's painful for me like today. Today's Daily Snap is of Milk Monster and his Body Art. I think he wants to be a body painting artist like my friend Rosa, from art by RoMa. Can you tell he's pretty proud of his creation but I don't think Rosa has to worry about any competition at least not for the mean time. His little work of art wouldn't have been too bad had it been the washable markers. But Nooo.... He did his work of art with a Sharpie permanent marker. At least he's not in any product photography sessions and we don't have anything planned for the next couple days. BTW he drew on his bedroom walls too but hey that I can cover with paint nothing to get upset about. Yes, there's always something interesting happening here at the home of Typhoon Trio.

What artistic master piece has your little one made for you???

Catch you on the flip side.
same time. same place.

Daily Snaps - being sweet

Today's Daily Snap is about a new friend I made during our adventure drive this morning. He was soo beautiful. I'm always nervous to touch horses I don't know but he nudged his head towards me. We became bosom bodies for life when I gave him some sugar cane to eat. I have more pictures to share but I will have to share at a later date. I'm not feeling well tonight but I but I wanted to make sure to share a Daily Snaps even if it was a short post

Daily Snaps - early bird

Early Bird

Oh, if you're the early bird, be an early bird
And catch the worm for your breakfast plate.
If you're a bird, be an early early bird -
But if you're a worm, sleep late.

-Shel Silverstein

Yeah!!!
We have reached our first week of Daily Snaps. If this happens to be your first time reading a Daily Snap and would like to see more isolated observations into my life. Then start on day one with the Candyman post.

I would like to thank everyone that has been reading the Daily Snaps. Even though you haven't been leaving me any "blog love" I know you are out there =) I appreciate your support greatly and look forward to the day that you leave me comments and we can converse.

Today's Daily Snaps is going to hit two birds with one stone. Today was a early, early day. I was out the door at 0530 for a couples photography session. I was really happy for one it wasn't raining and two this was special for them because they are PCSing soon back to the states. While I was waiting for the couple to arrive I took the first picture. I love how the sun kisses the night goodbye with beautiful colors. The session started out great and then we hit a 5 second down pour that soaked us to the bone. Lucky for me this couple was very laid back and willing to have fun. So they changed into dry clothes and we finished a wonderful session. I hope that Kevin and Amy find lots of blessings on their new journey. It was a pleasure to have met them.

The second and third picture were taken after the session. I love, love, love morning light. It's so soft and makes everything look so beautiful to me. Since it was still early, I was able to drive slowly thru the agricultural area of Yomitan. Then I saw a patch of yellow. I was so excited because I thought maybe just maybe it was a pumpkin patch!!!  I LOVE Okinawa but if there's one thing I don't like about being here is missing out on Autumn!  I love the fall time. I miss how you can smell it in the air, the crisp cold of the morning, the majestic show that nature gives us with the changing of the leaves, warm hot coco with marshmallows and snuggling out on our back porch when we lived on the lake. Sorry off on a tangent... so when I saw the flowers I thought PUMPKINS!! But the patch wasn't right next to the road I had to walk approx 10 to 15 feet to it. Which isn't bad but it's bad when you sink into the ground about 3 inches and have clay tennis shoes by the time you get out of there. Unfortunately, it wasn't pumpkins but Goyas aka bitter melon. They are still pretty and the flowers are too so I decided to share them. Needless to say by the time I got out of there I had to stomp my feet on the asphalt for a bit trying to get the clay off before getting into my funcargo. For those in the states a funcargo is a really cute vehicle made by Toyota. I love my car =)

Okay that's it I'm done rambling on =)

Thank you again for joining me this week.
Sweet Dreams Okinawa and have a blessed day to the other side of the world!

It was great sitting here with you for a bit. I'll catch you tomorrow =)
Same time. Same place.

Here is today's SNEAK PEEK for Kevin and Amy! Thank you for such a great morning =)
Have a GREAT time during your last few weeks on Okinawa! Kevin, hope you get a chance to catch some waves =)

Make sure to go say hello to Kristi and Jessica who are also doing a Photo-A-day Challenge. Leave us some blog love it always makes us smile!

Daily Snaps - early release

Water

Water is not only something to drink.
It is a toy for children to play in, I think.
They stomp around in puddles of water,
Which Mama said, "you shouldn't ought a..."

They swim in lakes, oceans and pools
Just to frolic, to splash and stay cool.
They flap an umbrella in the falling-down rain,
And watch raindrops slide down a windowpane.

They tease their friends with pointed hoses.
They spray it; squirt it, sometimes up their noses.
If water is all of these wonderful toys,
Why is it at bath time kids make such noise?
- Sharon MacDonald

Can we give ourselves a shout out!!!! Yes, it's day 6 of our Daily Snaps!!!

I'm pretty stoked that it's been six days. I was even tempted to skip tonight because I have a session that starts at 6 a.m. Which means I have to be up and out my door by 5:30 a.m. Yes, I do realize it's raining outside but knowing my luck if I cancel it. I will wake up to an absolutely beautiful sunrise. Okay going off on a tangent... back to the Daily Snap. I had thought on just doing it in the morning but I really found myself wanting to share my thoughts with you about today's pictures. I had more than 2 pictures but I really don't have the time to edit as I said before some of us need some serious beauty sleep.

Today's Daily Snap was sponsored by KES Half Day. Yes, K and R have only been in school now for a little over a week and they had their first early release day. Of course the last few days it has rained in the afternoon. So when Typhoon Trio requested to go outside and play I figured I better take advantage of the little bit of sun and let them wear off some energy. At first they played on the swing set, shortly there after they were bored and came inside. Then they asked if they could take the soccer balls outside. Of course me wanting them to go outside so that I could edit a little bit longer I said yes! (For those of you thinking my children were unsupervised outside my computer desk is right next to our window that faces their play area) So they showed me how they could pass the ball and stop it with their feet. K being the great helper he is asked if he could feed our dogs and changed their water. Feeding wasn't the problem my mistake was agreeing to change the water outside. Next thing I hear are laughters, squeals, water being sprayed into the house thru the sliders. Of course this isn't the first time thats happened my DH and I are known for chasing each other inside the hose with the water hose. So, I go and grab the camera wanting to capture the excitement. What I found was that Milk Monster had control of the water hose and had decided to spray his brother and sister. Of course you know they didn't have anything to do with this and they didn't egg him on ;) If I get a chance I will try to update the post with the additional pictures from their half day. I hope you enjoyed our afternoon early release activity!

What do you do on half days?

Thank you for sitting a spell with me tonight.
Sweet dreams I have to get to bed now.
Catch you tomorrow.
Same time. Same place.

Make sure to leave us some blog love! It always makes us smile =)
